i wrote something similar in nytimes comment
i went to my first baseball game in Ebbets Field and went the year before last to see the METS with jeff pulver. i hadn’t been to a game since whats his name stole the bases and my dreams at the tender age of 13 years old and bold faced lied as he did his dirty deed in the middle of the night - not impressed - it was my wake up call to the world of the gatekeepers being unfair - and that there is no justice for us its just-us out in the cold and we the fans, are seen by management as the enemy - and how about putting “the fans” in hall of fame and how about if we stopped going to games where would you be then i ask my self in you -

Hey SPORT!
When two men can’t get along there is always a talk over beer and peanuts. Have you ever seen the clip of John Lennon and Ronald Reagan talking in 1981 at the Super Bowl with Howard Cassel? Like anything else it is like anything else… Tonight I sat down and ate a meal with my communist father and told him my plans to market my art. He sat there and argued with me for a good ten minutes. I argued back… and after those ten minutes I looked him in the eye and said what are we arguing about? …he stuttered and had to think about it. He retorted. “I think the art just has to be good!” Tuche! Let’s talk about the Yankees because we can’t relate any other way.
So stop picking on Barry Bonds… the pitchers did it too! …and if you thought the 2007 Mets Choked… just wait for the Democrats in the election…. ALL RED SOX are COMMUNISTS!
